With all the excitement of Baby Sussex’s arrival on Monday, there was another birth announcement that you may have completely missed.
Comedian Amy Schumer and her husband Chris Fischer have welcomed a baby boy and the funny lady confirmed the news with a nod to the new royal baby.
In a sweet Instagram post, Amy shared a candid photo of herself lying in her hospital bed with the new bundle of joy in her arms and receiving a kiss from her husband.
“10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born,” the Trainwreck star captioned the snap.

The comedian, who has become more involved in political activism, informed her fans she was having a boy at the end of a long post urging her followers to boycott fast food chain Wendy’s.
In another Instagram post shared on Monday, Amy shared a picture of her heavily pregnant self and Chris sitting in what appears to be a nursery and wrote, “Hey! We love @chancetherapper and hate to be the ones to tell him that Wendys is the only fast food chain refusing to protect farmworker women from sexual assault and rape in the fields. This is true,” she wrote.
“Please read that sentence again. Message for the people in charge: Instead of spicy nuggets, we want food that is harvested with dignity NOT violence. Please join the @fairfoodprogram and #BoycottWendys link in my bio of how you can help. Also we are having a boy.”

Seeing as she announced her pregnancy shortly after Harry and Meghan, this isn’t the first time Amy has paid tribute to the royals.
The I Feel Pretty star posted a snap of her and her husband’s faces photoshopped onto Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s bodies back when they were on their royal tour of Australia.
“About to announce some exciting news on @jessicayellin insta page. Please follow her for up to the minute #newsnotnoise she breaks down what’s really going on. She agreed to post a lil noise today for me! Follow her and VOTE!!” she captioned it.

Of course, the new parents have been flooded with well-wishes, especially from their celebrity friends.
“Congratulations!!!! Sleep when you can. Seriously. Hug you. Welcome to the best and craziest part of life. Maybe,” actress Selma Blair messaged.
Oscar winner Halle Berry also penned, “YES!! Welcome to the tribe, mama!! ♥️♥️♥️”

And of course, people were quick to joke about her comparison to a certain Duchess of Sussex.
“OMG YOULL DO ANYTHING TO TAKE AWAY ATTENTION FROM MARKLE….CONGRATULATIONS!! 😍” comedian Cristela Alonzo wrote.
“You really are Meghan Markle. We knew it. Congrats 👊🥰,” clothing brand Faherty also commented.
