There’s happy news for AFL Footy Show host, Rebecca Maddern and hubby Trent Miller today – the pair has welcomed their first child.

Making the exciting announcement was their Today show friend, Ben Fordham.

“Can I share some wonderful breaking news with everyone? My beautiful friend Rebecca Maddern gave birth to a beautiful little girl,” he revealed this morning.

“Little baby girl Ruby Mae Miller was born last night. She weighed 7.5 pounds [3.4kg] and is absolutely beautiful. Mum and baby are fantastic and dad is pretty happy too.”

The Channel Nine team also sent out well wishes to the first-time parents.

“Everyone at Nine is overjoyed at the wonderful news and we send our love and best wishes to Bec, Trent and baby Ruby,” a statement read.

Rebecca and Trent kept the gender tightly under wraps from the public – and themselves.

“I’ve always maintained that I didn’t want to find out,” she told Nine Honey last month.

“I just felt like it was one of the greatest surprises in life – a true legitimate surprise – there was no cheating.

“But Trent’s made up his mind it’s a girl.”

The 40-year-old announced her pregnancy in November last year with a cute snap on Instagram captioned, “can’t wait for our new arrival in 2018!”, and said it was a “minor miracle”.

“I have fallen pregnant when I’m 40 and that’s an extraordinary thing to happen,” she told the Herald Sun last year. “It really is a minor miracle. I’m enjoying and relishing every day.”

The TV personality maintained she’d remain on the job for as long as possible.

“At this stage I plan to be part of The Footy Show for as much as I possibly can in 2018, although in saying that, it is really hard to set a timeline when a baby is involved,” Rebecca said when she made the announcement.

With an AFL-loving family, however, the most important question is: which AFL team little Ruby Mae will support?

‘My child will be a Cats supporter,” Rebecca insisted.

“There’s no debate, no changing, no just going with what your friends do at school. If they like AFL, they will be a Geelong Cats supporter.'”

Congrats to the family!
