Imagine boarding a flight and doing a double-take because another passenger looks really familiar – so familiar in fact, that they could be you!
That’s exactly what happened to Neil Thomas Douglas as he hopped on a RyanAir flight to Galway in Ireland.
However, somehow this encounter gets freakier, and has gone viral globally.
As Neil found his seat on the aircraft, he realised someone was in his allocated seat. As he asked the man to move, Neil found himself staring at his mirror-image!
Once the shock had passed, the two men – plus the passengers around him – had a good laugh.
Neil’s friend Tweeted a photo of the encounter, promptly set the internet on fire, and then they disembarked the plane and assumed they’d never see each other again. They were wrong.
The doppelgängers ran into each other again at a hotel, where they had both booked a room for the night.
Clearly the boys decided that the universe wanted them to enjoy a pint together – so they did.
This is not the first time a phenomenon like this has happened, just last week two girls from two different countries ran into each other while on a student exchange program in Germany and realised that they bear an uncanny resemblance to one another.
