Melbourne teen seriously injured after trying to save dog through horrifying carjacking

Warning: Graphic and distressing images

18-year-old Taylor Hall must have thought she was in a nightmare on Monday night after two men on the run from the police, hijacked her red convertible with her rescue puppy still in the backseat.

According to 7News the two men yelled at the young woman to get out of the car before jumping in and perilously driving down the wrong side of a busy road, before crashing.

Taylor was dragged along the road for at least 30 meters, still hanging onto the car in an attempt to save her puppy. She sustained broken teeth and other serious facial injuries in the ordeal.

“I would have held on for longer [but] as soon as I hit that curb, I was flung off and went smack into the concrete,” she told reporters.

Taylor posted pictures of her injuries on Facebook, captioned the images. “What a way to start the year 💕”

Taylor was severely injured and will need dental surgery, but she’d do it all again to save her puppy, Luna.

Luna was found soon after in a garden of a nearby home.

“She’s happy and safe at home, I miss her but get to see her today,” Taylor announced on Facebook.

The two men had attempted to steal two other cars as they fleed from police after stealing petrol from a Skye service station.

Taylor has still managed to keep a level head about the situation, posting several news reports about the incident on social media accompanying them with dry captions such as, “Oh hey that’s me.”

We’re wishing Taylor a speedy recovery.
