Queensland teacher’s cute start-of-year note to her Year 4 class goes viral

This is sure to give you the warm and fuzzies.

A teacher from Queensland gave all of her new students a note to start off the term and it’s absolutely perfect. It reads:

“Welcome to year 4.

“I’m so glad that you’re here.

“Here is a little goodie bag to help you kick off the year.

“The eraser is to remind you that it is ok to make mistakes.

“We’ll work and learn together, no matter what it takes.

“The stickers mean we’ll stick together and work hard as a team.

“The puzzle shows how we’ll fit together, working towards a common theme.

“The bookmark is to show you,

“You’ll always have a place.

“If you ever feel a little lost,

“We’ll help you find your place.

“The smarties are to remind you how smart I think you are.

“Work hard and do your best.

“Remember to aim far.”

The Bowen State School teacher is not named but the school shared a picture of the note on their Facebook page, which promptly went viral. At time of publishing, it’s been shared over 31,000 times.

The Sunshine Coast Daily reports a Department of Education and Training spokesperson said the teacher did not write the note and is not trying to pass it off as her own. She merely saw it online and thought it was “nice”.

Well we think it’s more than nice – what a lovely way for the kids to start off the year!
