It comes just months after the 10 year anniversary of the three-year-old’s disappearance.

A tourist on holiday in Magaluf, a popular holiday destination on the Spanish island of Majorca, has reportedly got a tattoo mocking the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

A Twitter user posted an image of the tattoo, writing: “Only in Maga would you find someone with an ‘I stole Madeleine McCann’ tattoo.”

The tattoo, which shows the offensive message inked on what appears to be the British-native’s thigh, is believed to be part of a disturbing new trend sweeping the area.

According to the Daily Star, which spoke to tattoo parlours in the area about the kind of requests they get, the offensive ink isn’t uncommon.

“We get loads of crazy Brits in here asking for all sorts of tatts,” one said. “We’ll do whatever they want, even if it’s offensive. Some people might say it’s a bit sick but it’s not going on our bodies, and it’s the person’s decision.”

Madeleine, 3, disappeared from an apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal in 2007.

In May, Kate and Gerry McCann, the toddler’s parents, gave a devastating interview to the BBC, to mark the 10-year anniversary since their daughter’s alleged abduction.

Speaking to the BBC’s Fiona Bruce, the McCanns recalled the agony of losing Madeleine and how they still struggle cope.

Heartbreakingly, Kate said she still buys birthday and Christmas presents for Madeleine.

“I obviously have to think about what age she is and something that, whenever we find her, will still be appropriate. so there’s a lot of thought goes into it.

“But I couldn’t not, you know; she’s still our daughter, she’ll always be our daughter.”

A crime expert recently dismissed investigations into searching for Madeleine McCann as a waste of time and money, claiming the missing child was never abducted.

Investigative criminal profiler and author of Profile of the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, Pat Brown, told news.com.au that she believes Scotland Yard botched the investigation and they’ll never be able to find her alive.

“Madeleine is dead,” Ms Brown said.

“There’s no point spending all of this money as nothing they do is going to make that child alive.”

Madeleine McCann continues to make headlines.

Her theory, developed during her profiling of the case, is that Madeleine suffered an accidental death that was “covered up”.

“When I analysed [Madeleine’s] case, it led me to believe evidence does not support an abduction. An abduction was extremely unlikely based on the amount of time, evidence at the scene, and every other shred of evidence there has ever been.”

“The evidence supports the theory of an accident occurring through neglect and possible medication,” she said.

“It’s my belief the body was moved to a desolate location and will never be found.”

In the past decade, there have been many theories and false leads in the search for Madeleine but what actually happened to the little girl still remains a mystery.
