How the stars of Mean Girls celebrated October 3rd

For those in the know, October 3rd marks a very special occasion that’s forever etched in the history books – Mean Girls Day.

In the cult-classic film Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan’s character Cady Heron gets asked by dreamboat and the love of her life Aaron Samuel (played by Jonathon Bennett) what the date is, she responds, “October 3rd.”

Ever since, that fateful day has been known as Mean Girls Day, with the stars of the film recently paying tribute to the movie that defined their careers – and our lives.

Jonathon Bennett, the actor, who along with LiLo stars in the iconic scene, took to social media and celebrated the day and it’s safe to say the film’s loyal and large following fangirled hard.

The 34-year-old first shared on Twitter, “Ok ok! My phone is blowing up so let’s make this a team effort. First let me clear my throat… eh hem…. so…. what day is today?”

“It’s a very important and historical day,” he then tweeted.

Fans were also treated to an Instagram video from his bed – swoon.

“Uh, I have a question. Does anybody know what day it is today?” he asked in the short clip.

Jonathon wasn’t the only star to celebrate the day, the film’s lead Lindsay Lohan also shared her thoughts on Instagram.

In one post the 29-year-old shared a screenshot of the dictionary definition of the word, “reminiscent.”

“What are everyone’s thoughts today? Thank you for your love regarding #meangirlsday,” she added as the caption.

The troubled star also hinted that she’s trying to make a sequel happen titled Mean Moms – now that’s an idea we can get on board with.
