The President of the United States of America, Barrack Obama has conquered another first. He’s the only commander in chief to learn how to survive in the great outdoors with Bear Grylls.
Real life action hero, Bear Grylls revealed what a "privilege" it was to trek through Alaska with Obama.
The British adventurer and the President were all smiles as they teamed up for a very special episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls.
Bear met up with Obama during a three-day trip to Alaska, giving the father-of-two the chance to discover the impact of climate change on the state while trying out his wilderness skills.
Obama took over the White House Instagram, flooding it with candid shots from the trip. We think Mr President has found a potential job for when 2016 rolls in!
Showing off his funny-side Obama posted a selfie of him and the adventurer smiling together on Tuesday evening, joking: "Glad this was the only Bear I met in the park."
The 54-year-old may have been on an adventure of a lifetime but he was still focused on discussing the issues close to his heart.
“The impacts of climate change are real, and the people of Alaska are living with them every day,” he wrote on Instagram. “It’s never been more important for us to work together to address this challenge.”
Before his meeting with Bear, Obama’s spokesman said on Air Force One: "The president has seen the show before. I will not deny your suspicion that there may have been some suggestions put forward by the Bear Grylls team that were not approved by the Secret Service.”
Before adding, "I think it’s just sort of an admittedly unorthodox, but legitimately interesting, way for the president to reach an audience that obviously cares about this conversation.”
Obama may be the first president to go on a Bear Grylls wild adventure, but the former British military commander has hosted some of Hollywood’s finest including, Channing Tatum, Kate Winslet and Ben Stiller.
