"The luckiest girl in the world": The beautiful way Turia Pitt and Michael Hoskin's love story unfolded

Turia Pitt and Michael Hoskin have known each other since high school and have been a couple since 2009.

Turia shared this gorgeous snap from the night Michael popped the big question. "The night Michael proposed. Breaking convention and posting a #tbt on a Wednesday! #WhatARebel"

The pair announced their engagement in The Australian Women's Weekly, with Michael admitting, "When Turia was in intensive care four years ago, I bought a diamond ring."

In 2011, Turia suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost her fingers and thumb on her right hand and spent five months in hospital after she was trapped by a grassfire in a 100 kilometre ultramarathon in the Kimberley.

The love between these two is unbreakable. Turia often cites Michael's love as the key to her survival, admitting he makes her feel like "the luckiest girl in the world."

Michael gave up his job as a cop to care for the love of his life. "You are looking beautiful today Turia. What are you going to achieve today?'' Turia recalled Michael saying to her when she was in the hospital.

"She's got crazy energy. She loves the outdoors, she loves the ocean like I do and we we're constantly active together," Michael said of Turia.

They're certainly an active pair!

"My life is incredible," Turia says. "I've got an amazing partner, beautiful family and friends."

You know your man is a keeper when he cooks for you. Turia shared this yummy snap of a lobster dish that Michael caught and cooked. What an overachiever!

Turia hasn't let anything stop her quest for adventure and discovery and welcomed her 28th birthday by climbing Machu Picchu.

Turia describes them as "The Dream Team!"

She continues to inspire everyone that hears her story.

Turia's work takes them all over the world.

And Michael is her biggest cheerleader.

The gorgeous couple announced they're expecting a baby in June 2017 and we were smiling from ear to ear when Turia debuted her baby bump on Instagram. But the gender reveal is even cuter...

Michael posted this picture on the 6th anniversary of the bushfire with the caption: "Six years ago you tried to steal our life together. F--k you fire!!!! Grateful for the tenacity of the human spirit, we are happy and loving life."

Twinning! Attending a friend's wedding in March 2019, Turia joked about her and Michael's matching outfits. "Michael loved my floral ensemble so much that he decided to peacock it out too," she wrote.

Out and about! You're never too young for a hike as Turia, Michael and son Hakavai prove.

Our hearts! Turia and Michael often shares snaps of their family outings, including this one in March 2019 when the trio took a trip to the aquarium. She wrote of little Hakavai: "You'd have a bemused expression if you were surrounded by cephalopods too!"

Turia announced that she and Michael were expecting their second child with a "Beyonce-inspired video montage."

Following the birth of their second son Rahiti, Turia captioned this snap, "Pretty cute. Kids aren't bad either."

This family of four are an outdoorsy bunch to say the least.

Even after becoming parents, Turia and Michael still make time for one-on-one moments.

"Looking more and more like a pair of middle aged parents 😂" Turia joked.

The family went all out for Rahiti's first birthday!
