Toddler strikes up adorable friendship with garbage man, surprises him with a tiny wheelie bin

This will seriously warm you cockles!
Lance Rufus

An adorable little guy called Lance Rufus has begun a weekly ritual of running out to greet his local garbage man James in Plano, Texas.

Two-year-old Lance first met James Jackson when he just a baby and his mum says he now insists on going out to meet him whenever he hears the truck.

Chantal Rufus told local broadcaster CBSDFW, “It’s like, Lance is eating breakfast, he hears it, he stops and says, ‘Garbage truck!’ We have to get him out of the high chair and run to the back.”

That’s cute enough in itself but the little guy just took his friendship with Jackson next level by dressing up like his idol.

His parents got him a tiny reflective vest and wheelie bin and Lance waited patiently outside to surprise Jackson with his mini-me costume. So cute!

And what does Mr Jackson think of the attention? “To see a youngster that’s so excited… It makes it all sweet when you see someone who really likes what you do,” he told CBSDFW.

Such a sweet friendship!
