A man has allegedly murdered his entire family before turning his gun on himself after Father’s Day celebrations “went really wrong”.
Utah man Russell Smith, 29, reportedly shot his wife Shawna Smith, 26, and two children Tylee, six, and Blake, two, and then shot and killed himself.
The tragic incident shocked the family’s neighbours, who didn’t know anything was amiss until they heard the screams of the relatives who discovered the bodies at around 10pm on Sunday, which was Father’s Day in the US.
“Sweetest little family you ever saw,” neighbour LaRue Simpson told ABC News. “Something must have gone really wrong yesterday because they were not like that at all.”
Smith had reportedly recently lost his job. Police are investigating if this contributed to the killings.
