Premature baby fits wedding ring on arm

We knew she would be small, but it took my breath away when we saw her.

This is Mollie. She is 25-days-old here, and with her father’s ring on her arm, smaller than most.

When this photo was captured, she weighed just 1lb 1oz. A large apple weighs about the same.

Mollie was born on April 27 by emergency caesarean section – three months earlier than her due date – with a condition called intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).

Her parents, James and Steph Perrin, from Hull, Yorkshire feared the worst.

“We knew she would be small, but it took my breath away when we saw her. It was a shock. She was so tiny and with all the machines it was scary to see her like that as well,” Steph told the Hull Daily Mail.

“In her first week we had gone home and got a call at 5am to say she had taken a major turn for the worse. They didn’t think she would last the day.

“It was horrendous. We thought we had lost her by the time we got to the hospital, but she picked herself up when we got there and she has been strong ever since.”

This week, the Perrin’s were able to take their beautiful girl – now 5lbs 8ozs – home.

She’s small, but one hell of a fighter.
