Nurse moved to tears after seeing elderly patient react to puppy

Her face lit up when she met Daisy

A nurse at an aged care home has been reduced to tears after watching the incredible reaction of her residents to visiting police dogs.

11-week-old Daisy was brought in to Surbiton’s Star and Garter Care Home by Kingston Police in south-west London in order to meet the residents as part of a presentation on scams and crime prevention.

But it seemed the residents were more interested in the canine visitors than the talk itself!

According to a Facebook post by Kingston Police, one resident, Muriel, who is “normally quiet and doesn’t show much emotion”, lit up when Daisy was put on her lap and her nurse was reduced to tears by the beautiful moment.

“It was a great privilege to be able to talk to the residents of the Star and Garter,” Sergeant Marshall said.

“There were a great audience and asked questions at every opportunity.”

“I was shocked to see Muriel’s reaction and I would like to thank the Star and Garter for having me, it was a great opportunity and something I will remember for the rest of my life.”
