Amanda Stewart decided to cut her chances of contracting cancer by electing to have preventative surgery to remover her breasts.

Stewart, who has a family history of cancer, set up the Facebook page ‘Cancer. You lose’ following her operation on August 6.

She has received thousands of followers and messages of support.

The 33-year-old from Carluke, South Lanarkshire, is proud of her body and hopes that she can be a role model for people who are apprehensive about getting the operation.

Many news outlets have compared Stewart to Hollywood A-Lister Angelina Jolie.

But Amanda says she is just an ordinary mum – though we think she’s helping women across the globe in an extraordinary way.
