Girl shaves head to raise money after dad dies from cancer

Over $12,000 has already been raised
girl shaves head for dad with cancer

A young British girl selflessly volunteered to have her head shaved in an effort to raise money for the hospice that cared for her dying dad.

10-year-old Tallulah Lewis-Schulz from Shrewsbury, England lost her dad Andreas on May 26, after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year.

It was just three weeks after his diagnosis that he was brought to Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury, England. While staying at the hospice, and just three days before he passed away, he married Tallulah’s mother, Sarah Lewis-Shulz.

Earlier this week, Tallulah had heard a radio campaign featuring “Brave the Shave”, a cause where people shave their heads to raise funds for cancer patients.

“We started talking about it and Tallulah said to me ‘Oh I would do that and raise the money for the hospice and to thank them for all the support they gave to our family,'” she told ABC News

“I said ‘Look, why don’t you think about it and let me know.'”

But, three days later, Tallulah had made up her mind and received a buzz cut in front of her classmates.

Over 12 inches of hair will be donated and turned into a wig for a child who’s lost his or her hair from cancer treatment.

The family has set up a page on Justgiving.com to collect donations for Severn Hospice.
