Dry Dog Wet Dog: Photographer’s portraits of dogs before and after bath time

Dry Dog Wet Dog is a photography project by Brisbane-based pet photographer Serenah Hodson featuring man's best friend before and after bath time.

American writer Ambrose Bierce once wrote, “The most affectionate creature in the world is a wet dog,” and ain’t it the truth?

One New Zealand photographer thinks so.

Dry Dog Wet Dog is a photography project by Brisbane-based pet photographer, Serenah Hodson.

The series features side-by-side portraits showing dogs before and after bath time.

On her Facebook page the pet-loving snapper says she was fascinated by the quirky behaviour of man’s best friend when they were wet.

“Their personalities change when they know it’s bath time,” Serenah wrote.

“I decided to create a series of the different looks and not only personalities but the difference in look from groomed to wet.”

“We get such great texture on the dog when the hair is wet.

“Some dogs look completely different when wet and this was the joy I wanted to capture.”
