On their 40th wedding anniversary Carolyn and Dexter Johnson – who were married July 12, 1975 – decided to recreate their wedding pictures by snuggling up on the back of a motorcycle to a time when the groom was 27 and the bride just 20.

The couple – who were married in Cleveland Ohio – stepped outside their current home in Katey, Texas to celebrate their long life together and the pictures were uploaded by their son to social media.

“My mom wanted to recreate a couple of the photos,” the couple’s son, Jay Johnson, told ABC News.

“They were going to Las Vegas that weekend for their anniversary but she didn’t want to carry her hat on the plane so they just recreated it at their house before they left.”

The photos were only intended to be a special memento for Carolyn, 67 and Dexter, 60 but once on the internet they went viral with many people commenting on a Reddit thread just how sweet they were.

“They definitely got a kick out of it,” Johnson said. “They’re happy to be spreading their love and joy to other people around the world.”

All together now… “Nawwwwwww”.
