Why do men cheat?

A male and female author debate the difference between the sexes in a new dating book "Men and Women: Mystery Unveiled"

It doesn’t take a 20-year-old book to tell us that men are from Mars and women are from Venus, anyone who has ever dated would verify it as truth.

London friends and authors Mary Agbabiaka and Rotimi Sowunmi – aka Melody Styles and Dr Chambers, have written a new relationship guide book endeavouring to unravel some of the mysteries of the sexes reports Daily Mail.

The book “Men and Women: Mystery Unveiled” is a modern day dating book that hopes to disclose what goes on in your other half’s head … unless it terrifies you about ever being your true self in a relationship, and needing to constantly maintain a facade in order to keep your partner’s interest piqued.

Written colloquially it may not be the most psychologically sound analysis of the sexes, but the pair do raise interesting points about dating in this era and what prompts cheating in particular.

Why men cheat – He says :

When men feel tied down, the desirability for other women increases

Other women are ‘forbidden’ and his curiosity is piqued

He questions why he is tied down if he feels the other woman is better looking than his partner

If his partner gets too comfortable in her relationship some other woman will do all the work

Why women cheat – She says:

Women cheat if there’s something lacking in their relationship

If women feel they are taken for granted or not appreciated, they are vulnerable to male attention

They want to be romanced as if it’s the last time – and a new man will give this level of passion

They like to be complimented especially if they have made an effort

In response to men’s underlying curiosity about searching for forbidden fruit, Mary tells it how it is –

“Ummm hello? What the hell are you curious about? You know why other women are forbidden… you’re in a committed relationship! See its phrases like these Dr C uses that makes me know some men are just plain crazy!”

At least this is one dating book that you won’t need to cut through psycho babble so you can get straight down to the nitty gritty –

Keep yourself nice, drop a compliment now and then, and always play a little hard to get, or perhaps you could just try old fashioned respect and honesty.
