Chilling details: Alleged serial killer confesses to multiple murders

Investigators say a man accused of keeping a woman "chained up like a dog" on his property has confessed to a quadruple murder that happened 13 years ago.

Todd Kohlhepp was arrested after a woman was discovered “chained like a dog” on his property, and now a local sheriff says he has confessed to seven killings.

Kala Brown, 45, was found inside a metal container on a South Carolina premises owned by Kohlhepp on Thursday after she’d been missing for more than two months, reports CBS News.

Ms Brown had been missing along with her boyfriend, Charles Carver, 32, since late August.

She was discovered after police heard pounding noises and screams from a metal shipping container in Woodruff, 130km northwest of the state capital of Columbia. Police reportedly said she was “chained up like a dog” inside.

Mr Carver’s body was later found on the property – he appeared to have died from multiple gunshot wounds.

After he was arrested last week 45-year-old Kohlhepp reportedly told police he was responsible for the deaths of four people in 2003.

According to a statement made by Spartanburg County Sheriff, Chuck Wright Kohlhepp – who is also a regeistered sex offender – said he was the gunman who killed four people in the Superbike Motorsports motorcycle shop massacre in Chesnee, South Carolina in 2003.

The place where Ms Brown was found was described by the Sheriff as “a hellish place to be locked in hot weather. No lights, no windows, no air flow”.

The woman reportedly told officers that Kohlhepp had shot and killed her boyfriend in front of her.
