Martin Shkreli, 32, earned the hatred of many Americans when he purchased the rights to make a life-saving AIDS drug and bumped up the price from around $13 a tablet to more than $750 a tablet, without so much as blushing.
A police spokesman says Martin’s arrest, which was cheered by many across America, was related to possible fraud over the misuse of money from his old hedge fund, and not to the drug matter.
Reports suggest that Martin’s now-defunct hedge fund, MSMB Capital Management, had lost millions, leaving a trail of angry investors.
