Scout master with child abuse offences suspended as parents claim they are being kept in dark

We have not been advised whether any of the charges are in relation to Scout youth members and we are not in a position to disclose the Scout Group connected to the leader to protect privacy.

Parents of Scouts in Queensland say they’re being kept in the dark about a Scout master charged with more than 100 child abuse offences.

The Courier Mail reports that a Scout master was suspended in April after being charged with child exploitation.

In a statement, the Scouts said: “We are obviously extremely disturbed and saddened by this news. The Scout leader was suspended immediately in April when we were informed by police about the charges. We have not been advised whether any of the charges are in relation to Scout youth members and we are not in a position to disclose the Scout Group connected to the leader to protect privacy.”

But parents are demanding to know whether any of the charges relate to children in Scouts.

The Scout Leader’s home was a designated ‘sleep over’ place for boys.
