Ouch! Six kilo baby breaks records in Queensland

And you thought you had a big baby!

A baby born in Queensland recently has shocked hospital staff – and made mothers cringe – when he weighed in at a whopping six kilograms.

Yes – that’s right. Six kilos. 13 Pounds, 6 ounces.

The baby, who has been named Jake Cooper McGuire, was born via C-Section in Queensland’s Ipswich Hospital on Tuesday, and tipped the scales at 6.04 kilograms.

At almost double the national average, Jake’s proud mother, Nicole, was a bit shocked, as well.

“I had a feeling he was going to be a big boy — didn’t realise that big,” Nicole told the Nine Network, “It was very exhausting, so glad to have him out.”

Jake’s older siblings, Ella, Brodie and Ruby were also well above average, with each weighing in at 11 pounds 6 ounces, 11 pounds 10 ounces and 8 pounds 13 ounces, respectively.

Must be something in the water!
