One person has been killed and three others wounded in a shooting at a NYC concert for rapper T.I.

Police said a 34-year-old man has been shot in the chest, and a 33-year-old man in the stomach. One of the men then died in hospital.

A woman, 26, was shot in the leg and a fourth person admitted themselves into hospital.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., was scheduled to go on stage at Irving Plaza at 9 or 9.30pm but allegedly never turned up.

Elijah Rodriguez was in the VIP area with his sister waiting for the rapper to perform.

According to him, the venue began to play music around 10pm and soon later he saw people coming out from where the performers were coming onstage.

He said: “All the sudden I heard someone saying that there was a shot, that someone got shot.”

“It was scary to deal with. When I got outside, like literally across the street, there were a few girls having, like, panic attacks. One girl thought she saw someone get shot in front of her.”

T.I., known for songs “Whatever You Like” and “No Mediocre” was not allegedly not on stage when the shooting occurred.

Footage from Twitter has emerged of the chaos in the concert venue (see above).

No arrests have been made and representatives of T.I. are referring all questions of the shooting to police.
