Model and fashion designer L'Wren Scott has been found dead in her New York apartment. She was 49.
L'Wren – who has been dating Rolling Stones rocker Mick Jagger since 2001 – is believed to have taken her own life.
Jagger, who is Perth preparing to kick off the Rolling Stones' Australian tour, is "completely shocked and devastated" by her death, a spokesman said this morning.
Jagger and his bandmates have reportedly left their hotel and are believed to be postponing their tour so frontman Jagger can return to New York.
Jagger's daughter Georgia May was also due to hit the runway at the Melbourne Fashion Festival this week, but has cancelled her appearance.
L'Wren found fame as a model before starting her own fashion label in 2006 and enjoyed great success, dressing some of the world's biggest stars including Nicole Kidman, Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker and Angelina Jolie.
Despite this, the label was reportedly in financial trouble, with British newspapers reporting L'Wren owed more than $6 million to creditors and was very "embarrassed" by her business failure.
