Celebrity chef Matt Moran has cooked up a shocking demonstration to show just how dangerous it is to leave a child in a car, by cooking a lamb loin inside a parked car at Bondi Beach.
Together with Kidsafe, Moran introduced The Unconventional Oven which was a family car.
He was able to show how quickly the inside of a car can hit scorching temperatures on a sunny day, with the cars inside temperature peaking at 83 degrees Celsius.
Moran put two lamb loins inside the car and added nothing but olive oil in order to cook it in the extreme heat.
Both sides of the lamb were removed after 90 minutes and Moran said they were “totally overdone.”
The message from the demonstration is clear – keep your kids safe this summer and out of the car.
