A Perth man is facing charges after leaving a three-year-old boy alone in a scorching car as temperatures reached 40C.
Police say around 4:10pm on Tuesday, shopping centre security were notified of a young boy who had been left unattended in a locked vehicle parked in the sun in Booragoon, Peth.
They were forced to smash their way into the car to rescue the little boy, as temperatures hit 38.4C.
However, the temperature inside the car could easily have reached beyond 50C.
The little boy has been checked and cleared of any serious injury.
A 35-year-old man has been summoned to appear in court on the “probably charge” of leaving a child unsupervised in a vehicle, news.com.au reports.
