JonBenet Ramsey murder suspect charged with sexually exploiting a child

A suspect on the murder of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey in 1996 will face court after being caught with child pornography.

It’s one of the most intriguing unsolved mysteries from the ’90s after six-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey was found dead in a bloody pool in the basement of her home on Boxing Day, 1996.

Now a suspect in the case, Gary Howard Olivia, 52, has been arrested by Colorado police after being caught with child pornography.

According to Daily Camera, police said that he uploaded at least 20 graphic images of children to an email address, with some of the pics showing a girl aged between four and seven.

Arrest documents stipulate he was homeless at the time of arrest.

Olivia was one of multiple suspects in the case, and he revealed in a TV interview in 2002 he’d written a poem dedicated to the little girl, called “Ode to JonBenet”.

He also reportedly went to jail for an assault on a girl of just seven years old.

Olivia will face court on new charges, including sexual exploitation of a child, on July 11. A judge has ordered him held on a bond of US$10,000 (AU$13,000).
