Huegill apologises after drug charges

“Some people feel that they have been let down and I deeply apologise for that,” Huegill told the Nine Network.

While NSW Police declined to confirm the identity of the couple involved, they said that a 35-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were issued with the notice at Randwick Racecourse about 6pm on Saturday.

According to a police statement, officers attended the racecourse as part of their regular duties but were directed to a private suite in the grand stand by security staff. There, police found the couple and after a search allegedly discovered a small amount of “a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine”.

The couple, who were issued with a field court defence notice charging them with one count of possessing a prohibited drug, are set to appear in Waverley Court on May 14.
