Disabled dog gets to run again with the help of prosthetic legs

Thanks to a pair of dedicated fur-parents and one talented vet, this little pup can keep up with anyone!

Little Daisy the dog was just days away from being put down but she was given a new lease on life when she was adopted by a very dedicated couple.

Sheena and Christian Main from Los Angeles saw Daisy, who was in pretty bad shape from living on the streets of LA, and saw a pup in need of a little love.

After a few months of living a painfree life with her new fur-parents, Daisy was ready to step up to the challenge and learn to walk again.

Starting with strengthening her body, Daisy was helped along by a specially made wheelchair – but it wasn’t a permanent solution.

Daisy’s vet informed Sheena and Christian that the wheelchair was putting pressure on Daisy’s spine, which would hurt her in the long run.

Abandoning her wheelchair for something a little more practical, Daisy got her paws on her very first pair of prosthetic legs, courtesy of Dr. Derrick Campana from Virginia.

And it was a success!

“Daisy [can] walk faster without the legs hitting each other like before. The sole of her leggies were cut shorter and now have a hook shape to them,” wrote Sheena, “Also, the leggies both feel and look as if they are actually a part of her legs. I am so excited for what the future hold for Daisy with her new legs!”

“Daisy is now RUNNING! Both her ears and spirit are bouncing with joy!”
