Time flies! Can you believe it’s been 30 years since Dirty Dancing hit the big screen on Aug. 21, 1987?! We certainly can’t.

Throw on your dancing shoes, turn on The Time Of My Life, and let’s remember the iconic film on its special anniversary. In a previous exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, the movie’s star, Jennifer Grey, opened up about what it was like to work with her co-star Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey

“I had the time of my life,” the 57-year-old actress gushed.

“And Patrick really had his heart in it. He was a great dancer and he was fearless.”

“His fearlessness with my fearfulness — it was like a marriage where you have two opposites,” Jennifer explained. “He would do anything and I would be scared to do anything. [But] he was really strong and very protective of me.”

The two portrayed sheltered teenager Baby and handsome dance instructor Johnny in the flick about their summer love affair. In May 2017, the memorable blockbuster was brought back to life with a TV remake. Here’s hoping Jennifer one day considers doing a Dirty Dancing sequel.

Here’s what the cast has been up to since the iconic movie premiered in 1987:

Jennifer Grey (Frances “Baby” Houseman)

After having the time of her life (see what we did there?) at Kellerman’s, Jennifer’s career took a major hit when she got a nose job. “I went in the operating room as a celebrity and came out anonymous,” the actress — who has also appeared in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Red Dawn — once said of the surgery. Jennifer most recently won the 2010 season of Dancing with the Stars and starred in movies In Your Eyes and Judy.

Patrick Swayze (Johnny Castle)

Throughout the 1980s and 90s, Patrick solidified himself as a leading man and sex symbol in movies including The Outsiders, Red Dawn, Ghost and Point Break. The actor received three Golden Globe nominations for his acting roles before he sadly passed away at age 57 in 2009.

Kelly Bishop (Marjorie Houseman)

Jerry Orbach (Dr. Jake Houseman)

For nearly 50 years, Jerry was a leading man on Broadway, TV, and film. Before he passed away at age 69 in 2004, he was most recognized for his Tony Award-winning performance in Promises, Promises, and for appearing in series’ Murder, She Wrote and Law & Order.

Jane Brucker (Lisa Houseman)

Since playing Baby’s perky older sister, Jane starred in movies Stealing Home, Doctor Doctor, and Bloodhounds of Broadway before retiring from acting to raise her daughter, Sally. She later welcomed another daughter, Rachel, with her photographer husband Raul Vega.

Jack Weston (Max Kellerman)

Before he sadly died at age 71 in 1996, Jack was known for his comedic movie roles — including Cactus Flower and Please Don’t Eat the Daisies — Broadway performances and stints on hit TV shows.

Cynthia Rhodes (Penny Johnson)

Before Dirty Dancing, Cynthia starred in Xanadu, Flashdance, Staying Alive, and Runaway. She now lives in Illinois with her husband and three sons.

Max Cantor (Robbie Gould)

After starring as womaniser Robbie, the up-and-coming actor landed a role in the comedy Fear, Anxiety & Depression. At age 32, the Harvard-graduate sadly died of a heroin overdose in October 1991.
