The price of a packet of cigarettes will rise to $40 thanks to the latest tobacco tax hike.
Federal Finance Minister Mathias Cormann confirmed tobacco excise will rise 12.5 per cent every year until 2020, The Courier Mail reports.
Details of the increase will be released when the Federal Budget is handed down tonight.
