Adelaide woman attacked by six hammer-wielding men

Police suspect it was a targeted attack.

Six men wearing balaclavas, black clothing and white surgical gloves broke into an Adelaide home and attacked a female occupant last night.

Police say the men broke into the Craigmore house in Adelaide’s north around 10:20pm before assaulting the woman and smashing property.

The woman was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with leg injuries, including bruising, cuts, swelling and a possible fracture.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Senior Constable Kate Dawson reassured the public that, at this stage, the attack is not believed to be random.

“Whether it turns out be that they are known to her or not, it is still a very alarming incident,” she said.
