It doesn’t get much more Aussie than Australia Day merchandise, but an omission has left Woolworths supermarket red-faced and out of pocket reports news.com.
Caps with a flag-filled outline of the country hit the shelves in preparation for Australia Day on the 26th January, but when customers realised that Tasmania was missing, both Tasmanians and sympathetic mainlanders were unimpressed.
When disgruntled customers took to social media to air their displeasure at the oversight a spokesman for the grocery giant said they supermarket would remove the products from shelves.
“Woolworths is aware of the issue and in the process of withdrawing the product from our supermarket shelves,” a statement from the company read.
