Yep, as reported by USA Today, a shaken Andrea took to the stand in a Denver federal courtroom on Wednesday, August 9 and it was all sorts of emotional.
ICYMI, Taylor has gone to trial against former DJ, David Mueller, who Swift says groped her butt at her pre-concert meet-and-greet in 2013. David lost his job as a result of the allegations and is seeking up to $3million in damages.
"We had never experienced this before," said Andrea, referring to the night the incident occurred. "We didn't know what to do. It was inconceivable to us that this could take place. We didn't know what to do. We were shocked."
What’s more, Andrea became teary as she recounted the moment that her daughter told her.
“I went into the dressing room and I saw her face. I could see that there was something horribly wrong," she began.
"[Taylor] said, 'Mum, a guy just grabbed my ass',” revealed Andrea. “I was upset to the point where I felt like I wanted to vomit and cry at the same time."
"Emotions evolve but I was far more upset and trying to be attentive to my daughter than I was consumed with anger.”
Andrea then went on to state what was going through Taylor’s mind after the alleged incident occurred.
“One of the things I think that stuck with me [about that night] was that [Taylor] couldn't believe that after the incident, after he grabbed her, that she thanked him for being there,” said Andrea.
“She said thank you. It was destroying her that she said that after someone did that to her. It made me question why I taught her to be so polite in that moment.”
Taylor didn’t try to contact police after the alleged incident because she wanted to keep it “discreet and quiet”, her attorney Douglas Baldridge argued in court.
"I did not want this event to define her life," Andrea explained. “I didn't want her to have to live through the endless memes internet trolls could come up with. We absolutely wanted to keep it private, but we did not want him to get away with it."
David lost his job as a result of the alleged groping and during Wednesday’s testimony he claimed that he touched Taylor near her rib cage, not her butt.
"The reason I'm here is because I want to clear my name first and foremost," he told the jury.
Taylor is expected to take the stand at some point during the trial and is seeking $1 in her counter-suit.
