Schapelle Corby has been given a return date to Australia

Corby has always protested her innocence.

Schapelle Corby’s release date for mid-2017 has been confirmed by the Indonesian Parole Board, reports Nine News.

Exactly 12 years to the day after she was convicted of trafficking 4.2 kilograms of marijuana into Bali in her boogie-board bag 39-year-old Corby will be able to return home to Australia on May 27.

Corby, who is currently keeping a low-profile while on parole in Bali, served nine years inside Kerobokan prison after her 2005 conviction.

It is expected Schapelle will return to the Gold Coast to live with her sister Mercedes, just in time to celebrate her 40th birthday.

Schapelle has always protested she was innocent and says she had no knowledge of the cannabis found in her luggage, claiming it was planted their by someone else.
