Police dogs left in hot car in NSW

Five dogs were reportedly left in a car outside Redfern Police Station.

Recently, Australia has been hit with some crazy weather and just yesterday in NSW, the temperature reached well above 30 degrees.

So when Konstantine Alexander, 26, spotted five dogs in cars outside Redfern Police Station in NSW around 2:30, he was understandably shocked.

He claims of the five canines, two were in direct sunlight, and one of those was looking very unwell.

Mr Alexander also said there was no water left out for the dogs.

“The second I saw it I jumped on the phone to RSPCA,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

He said the animals looked distressed, and when he approached NSW Police officers about the dogs’ welfare they were hostile.

“Two of the officers immediately put another dog in the car when they came out of the station,” Mr Alexander said.

“The first thing I said to one of the officers was that I’m currently on the phone to RSPCA.”

“And he responded ‘Onya mate’ and completely ignored me the whole time,” he added.

Mr Alexander said when he tried to talk to another officer, who he believed to be the first man’s subordinate, his inquiries were still not taken seriously.

Mr Alexander said the police officer told him they were following protocol by having the rear windows open.
