‘Fat shaming’ cards given to overweight commuters on London Tube

Police investigating group calling themselves Overweight Haters Ltd.

A group calling themselves Overweight Haters Ltd have been handing out ‘fat shaming’ cards to commuters on the London underground.

According to the insulting and demeaning cards that have been distributed so far, the group “hates and resents fat people” for “wasting NHS money”.

National Health Service worker Kate Florish was presented with a card, which she then shared on social media.

British Transport Police are aware of the situation and are currently investigating the group, encouraged commuters that have seen anything or have received a card to get in touch with the police.

Many other commuters have also taken to social media to express their disgust at the situation.

Steve Burton, director of enforcement and on-street operations for Transport for London has also encouraged any victims of the stunt to contact police stating that; “all of our customer have the right to travel with confidence, and this sad and unpleasant for of anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.”
