A Western Sydney grandmother has been left heartbroken after thieves broke into her Emu Plans home and stole the only connection to her war hero brother.

Now, Dolly Bolton, 87, is pleading to the thieves to return her most precious possessions, priceless memorabilia from the war her brother was killed in.

Dolly’s home has been robbed three times, but this time what has been taken is irreplaceable. The memorabilia, artifacts from the HMAS Kuttabul, is worthless on the black market but priceless to Dolly, who told 7 News that she had been waiting almost 60 years to retrieve some of the possessions.

Dolly Bolton, 87, is pleading to thieves to return memorabilia from the war her brother was tragically killed in, after it was stolen from her Western Sydney home.

Dolly’s brother, William, died in 1942 aboard the HMAS Kuttabul which sank when Japanese subs struck Sydney harbour, in what Nick Fletcher of the Australian War Memorial says is “quite a rare and significant event”.

Dolly refuses to leave her home, so her family are now installing security cameras to deter, or identify thieves.

“If you have that memorabilia I’d be grateful if you would return it and maybe god will forgive you for what you have done,” pleaded Dolly.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
