Salma Hayek mourns the loss of her dog Blue

The actress shared her heartbreaking news on Instagram, sharing a poignant tribute to her beloved companion.

Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy.

The Hollywood starlet connected with many as she shared her pain through the photo sharing site.

Posting four snaps of her pet, the 50-year-old penned an emotional note, “My blue’s body died yesterday. I understand he is in a better place but my eyes cry anyway.”

Her darling pooch had been ill for the past few weeks, but the mum-of-one was hoping that he would turn around after he received treatment at the Advanced Critical Care of Los Angeles.

“I’m so relieved to see my Blue bouncing back from a very rare auto immune disease,” she wrote at the end of March.

“They gave me two options: to put him to sleep or try an experimental treatment. I took the chance and his smiles tells us he is happy to still be among us. Thank you everyone at the #hospital.”

The loss comes just a year after the untimely passing of her other dog Mozart.

Salma’s pet was sadly shot by a neighbour, who used a pellet gun to try and scare him off his property.

The Latina star is a huge animal advocate, who has many beloved creatures in her care.

She once mused, “My favorite part about going out is coming home to my loves.”
