Adorable 4-year-old girls insist they’re twins because they have the ‘same soul’

This is just too cute!

There’s no denying that 2017 has been full of depressing stories, but thankfully this is not one of them. Two 4-year-old girls have gone viral for one simple reason: They’re convinced that they’re twins. The only problem is that the girls aren’t sisters, they’re not related, and they’re not even the same race.

Jia is Caucasian and has blonde hair, and Zuri is African American and has dark brown hair. Their birthdays are actually two days apart – Jia’s is June 3 and Zuri’s is June 5 – but they were determined to celebrate them together this year because of how close they are.

The girls’ mums are proud their daughters don’t notice their physical differences, and instead only see their similarities.

“I think that’s one of the nice things about growing up in a multicultural, melting pot city,” Jia’s mum, Ashley Riggs Sarnicola, told ABC News. “They don’t see color. We’ve never talked to them about it, period.”

And when the world did try and tell them that they can’t be twins, Jia had the purest response. Her mum loved it so much, she even shared it on Facebook.

“At a birthday party, Jia was crying after another little girl said to her, ‘there is no way you and Zuri are twins you don’t have the same color skin!’ Jia said, ‘you don’t know anything, we are twins because we have the same birthday and the same soul’.”

Our hearts are just about bursting at the sweetness of that reply. Her mum said, “When she said that, it took me aback. It was so sweet.” She added, “They’re both little Geminis. They have very strong personalities and are both super outgoing, well-spoken, intelligent, and not afraid to tell you what they want. They hit it off right away.”

Zuri’s mum, Valencia Copeland, said “It is unbelievable. They connected very well immediately. It was amazing how they’ve gelled together.”

We guess some things are just fate!
