We love Michelle Obama’s revelation about daughter Sasha’s new room

It’s no White House, but Sasha Obama is loving their new home anyways!

The Obama family officially moved out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave back in January 2017, and it seems like it’s been a bit of an adjustment for the former President of the United States.

Their daughter, Sasha, 16, however, is loving her new abode!

“[Barack] still talks about this. He got so shortchanged on this whole deal. He doesn’t have enough closet space… sorry! He’s got the smallest room for his office,” Michelle Obama hilariously revealed on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Thursday, Feb. 1.

“And Sasha actually killed in this house — she has this two-room suite, it’s all decked out. She’s got a living room area and bedroom. She designed it. So he’s really hating on her.” Too funny!

Malia Obama, 19, probably isn’t too happy with her bedroom space this time around, unlike her younger sister.

“Malia’s got a room in the attic somewhere,” her mom continued. “She’s away at college — you don’t waste rooms on college kids.”

The teen is currently off at Harvard University for her freshman year.

The animals of the household also had a bit of a difficult time getting acclimated to their new living space.

“The dogs, Bo and Sunny, don’t know what a doorbell is,” the former first lady added in her first TV interview since she left the White House.

“So the doorbell rings and they’re like, ‘Huh, I never heard that before.'” Hopefully they still have a nice yard to run around in!

The Obamas on Election Night in 2008

For any family, it’s difficult leaving a place you’ve called home, but the Obamas have a positive outlook on it.

“The thing I learned in those eight years is that home is where we make,” Michelle said. “We were in the White House for eight years but it wasn’t the house — it was us in it. Our values and our love for each other. We just moved that to another house.”
