Almost two years ago Melissa George arrived at a French police station at 3 am with bruises on her face after she was allegedly struck by her former partner and father of her children, Jean-David Blanc.
Melissa was then taken to Cochin Hospital in Paris, where she lived with the 38-year-old businessman and their two kids Raphaël, two, and Solal, ten months.
Following the shocking incident, the former Home and Away actress has openly discussed the bitter custody battle between herself and French entrepreneur Jean.
1 in 6 women suffer physical or sexual abuse from partner in Australia alone, and finding a new space to feel safe and secure in is of the upmost importance, but experts from the Community Alliance Against Family Abuse explain it's a process which takes a long time.
This week the Logie award winning actress shared a snap of the home she has created for her and her two children, and her caption is just as beautiful as the picture itself.

The caption reads:
I was given 48 hours to find a home in Paris. I went Into a real estate agency with my boys in tears saying I am not French, without work, no one to sign for the lease, etc. and I am in need of a home for us three immediately. The agent said " come with me" she opened the door to my home and I fell in love. I then started at one end of Paris going to every single antique market ( best memories ) and even finding 18 th century desks and tables on the side of streets calling Uber and begging them to take my belongings home ! ( not one turned me down ) merci #uber and in two months I created a space that makes our spirits soar. Less is best. Perhaps my new vocation. My papa came recently and re did all my antiques as they were falling apart and now my boys can jump all over the furniture. The lamp on the left was an old coat stand that I turned into a lamp myself.
The former Home And Away star met Jean-David at a BAFTAs after party in 2011 and began dating in 2012. She was married to Claudio Dabed for 11 years before the couple announced their divorce in 2011.
