Fabulous how-to projects: Vintage frame chalkboard

Want to jazz up your home but don't want to spend a fortune? We've got all the fabulous tricks and tips to help you out.

You don’t have to spend a fortune to transform your home. This inspirational craft project is fun, easy to do and looks amazing!

You’ll often find a beautiful old frame displaying a painting you don’t love. A simple way to make a new and useful item, without having to pull them apart, is to turn them into pretty chalkboards. Just ensure the existing art is unwanted and/or not valuable!

Vintage Frame Chalkboard

1. Protect the frame by covering it in masking tape.

2. Apply a good quality primer to the picture an leave to dry.

3. Follow with two coats of speciality chalkboard paint.

Note: chalkboard paint doesn’t necessarily need to be black or classroom green; it now comes in a whole range of colours, including hot pink and orange.
