This could be the most disgusting cake ever, but we can’t look away

Would you eat this acne cake?

If you’re squeamish, it’s best you look away now.

Someone has invented the **ultimate revolting cake*that nobody asked for… and yet we can’t look away.

The Cakescape in Kuala Lumpur has created a cake actual, poppable AND edible pimples.

Yep, you read that right – and it’s disgustingly realistic.

Check out a clip of the cake in action below.

The cake depicts a young woman’s face covered in “pus-filled” red blotches, which burst open when you squeeze near the small mounds.

Yes, they are repulsive but also surprisingly popular. The Malaysian bakery told Mashable they have sold 20 of the cakes in the past year.

The cake is often the talking point of the party, and this one is certain to be a an effective ice breaker.

The appeal of this “sweet treat” comes from the shock factor; the bakery has said the quirky desserts are popular for events like bachelorette and hens parties.

Fans of Dr Pimple Popper can attest to the gross fascination and satisfaction around the popping of pimples.

If you’re feeling brave, check out the Dr Pimple Popper video below… but be warned, it’s incredibly graphic.

The Medical Daily reveals that our obsession with pimple popping stems from something known as the science of disgust. The feeling we get when watching these videos or eating the cakes is a trait that humans have developed over time to help keep safe from harm.

The quote Daniel Kelley author of the book Yuck!: The Nature and Moral Significance of Disgust, and explain that in a society oversaturated with offensive imagery, “Instances where we will feel genuine disgust are few and far between. According to Kelly, it’s this desensitization which has allowed the rare, disgusting footage or experience to truly capture our attention.”

So there you have it, still not eating that cake though.
