As the voting for the 2017 TV Week Logie Awards officially opens, we look back at one of the nation’s stand-out stars and her road to success!

We first fell in love with her back in 2009, when she played Rachel in Packed To The Rafters.

Fast forward to 2016 and Jessica Marais domination on our screens is hard to ignore.

Most recently she won hearts all over again playing the relatable yet accomplished TV producer Lily Woodward on Channel Ten’s The Wrong Girl.

But for the 31-year-old, her most important role is being mum to her darling daughter Scout, four. “She’s constantly teaching me patience, which is something I have to work hard at. She also teaches me to see the potential in life. She’s quite a creative little soul,” Jess has said of her daughter.

Jessica Marais

Jess was nominated for Most Outstanding Newcomer and Most Popular New Female Talent at the 2009 Logie Awards for her role as Rachel in Packed To The Rafters. She walked away with both statues and cemented her status as one of Australia’s TV darlings!

In 2010 she was nominated for Best Actress, but lost out to her on-screen mother Rebecca Gibney. At least it stayed in the Rafters family. Although she went home without an award, check out that dress! She certainly won in the style stakes that year.

Jess was nominated for two awards in 2011, once again for Best Actress and also for Most Popular Personality on Australian TV. Asher Keddie picked up the Best Actress gong for her role in Offspring, whilst Today host Karl Stefanovic picked up the Most Popular Personality on Australian TV.

Jessica wasn’t nominated for a Logie in 2014, but she still attended the event. She graced the red carpet in a stunning silver dress. Understated bling at its best.

2016 was Jess’ year as she took home the Best Actress Silver Logie for her role in Love Child. Whilst accepting her speech she also wished her daughter Scout a happy fourth birthday. Awwww! Watch her sweet shout-out to her daughter in the next slide.

Shortly after her win, her former Packer to the Rafters co-star Hugh Sheridan snapped a touching photo to congratulate his pal. “My girl Jess won. #jessicamarais #comealongwayfromNIDA #logieawards,” Hugh penned alongside a sweet black-and-white snap of the pair.

The smile says it all!
