Meghan Markle’s day on a plate

We actually want everything that she’s having…
Meghan Markle

Just when we thought we couldn’t adore Meghan Markle more, the Suits actress goes and reveals details of her life that make us feel like we have more in common than we originally thought.

And it all has to do with her love of food.

The brunette beauty, who is dating Prince Harry, opened up to Delish about what her standard day on a plate is… hot chips, included!

When filming Suits in Toronto, Canada, the 35-year-old starts her day at 4:15am with hot water and lemon, before tucking into a bowl of steel-cut oats with bananas – agave syrup drizzled on top.

When lunchtime rolls around, Meghan is all about a salad with some sort of protein, followed by apples with almond butter and sea salt as her afternoon snack.

If she needs a little pick-me-up before dinner (considering she’s up so early, we don’t blame her!), Meghan enjoys a green juice, before gearing up for pasta with zucchini, plenty of Parmesan and a glass of wine.

Meghan says she slow-cooks zucchini to make a creamy sauce for her pasta dishes.

She says she loves drinking green juices to give her an energy boost.

While this all sounds healthy and delicious, Meghan confesses that she definitely relaxes when she’s not filming…

While breakfast is a nutritious omelette with fresh herbs and cheese, and toast, she loves eating seafood and chips for lunch… just like the rest of us.

“[French fries is] its own food group for me!” she admits.

The stunning actress loves eating hot chips – and we can only applaud that!

And she loves hot chips so much that it makes total sense that while working in Toronto, Meghan has acquainted herself with a Canadian food staple: poutine – chips topped with cheese and gravy!

“It’s got to squeak when you bite into it,” she says. “Really. The cheese curds should make a squeaking noise when you bite into them or squeeze them. That’s how you know you’ve got the right kind.”

But while poutine is undeniably drool-worthy, Meghan does admit that she usually tends to steer clear of gluten-loaded foods – except when she’s on holidays.

“When I’m traveling, I won’t miss an opportunity to try great pasta,” she says.

“I come back from vacation every year with a food baby, and I’ve named her Comida. I get to the set and I’m like, ‘hey, Comida’s here, and she’s kicking.'”

Prince Harry, we can see why you’re smitten with this hilariously down-to-earth celebrity!
