Hilary Duff was thrilled when Matthew Koma, the father of her baby daughter Banks Violet, proposed to her last week. And now sources close to the 31-year-old actress have revealed she’s already excitedly planning her dream “beachside” wedding!

“It looks like it’ll be a traditional Hawaiian Luau, with everyone wearing leis,” an insider exclusively tells OK!.

“It won’t be a small wedding, because now she has lots of pals with kids and she wants the kids to come, too,” adds our source.

“There’ll be lots of laughs – and barefoot dancing on the sand!”

ROMANTIC ENGAGEMENT

It seemed inevitable to friends that the smitten couple, who met while they were working together on Hilary’s 2015 album Breath In. Breathe Out., would eventually get married – so many weren’t surprised when Matthew, also 31, proposed.

“He asked her to marry him on the beach at Malibu as he had always planned!” our insider reveals.

“They were going for a walk when he got down on one knee and whipped out the biggest diamond she had ever seen! She was sobbing.”

Matthew caught Hilary by surprise, but she loved the romantic beach proposal – and the stunning five-carat cushion-cut solitaire diamond engagement ring!

“She loves it almost as much as she loves her man! They’re so happy,” our source adds.

HAPPY EVER AFTER

Hilary’s made no secret of the fact she’s longed for her happy ever after.

“I want a husband and two kids and a nice little life,” she’s previously said.

Now, thanks to her singer-songwriter beau’s romantic proposal, it looks like the Younger star’s dream is coming true at last!

“Hilary initially thought she wanted a low-key ceremony, as this is her second marriage,” our source says. (Hilary married retired professional ice hockey player Mike Comrie in 2010, but the couple split in 2016. The pair share a seven-year-old son, Luca).

“But Matthew is actually telling her to go for it.”

FITNESS FIRST

Now the mum-of-two is busy planning her dream wedding ceremony and reception. And, six months on from welcoming her first child with Matthew, Hilary’s also begun a sensible diet and exercise regimen so that she looks – and feels – amazing on her big day.

“I wasn’t in any rush to get back into shape [after Banks was born],” Hilary’s previously shared.

“Bonding was more important.”

But with her bond with her ‘wolf pack’ (which includes the family’s rescue dog Lucy!) now firmly established, Hilary’s turned her focus to herself.

“She’s being sensible, but she’s also working hard,” our source explains.

“She’s going to make the most beautiful bride.”

SHAPING UP

Bride-to-be Hilary is taking a sensible approach to her pre-wed shred, which includes daily workouts and a low-carb/ high-protein meal plan.

“She’s going almost all protein with her diet and fitting in daily workouts to look her best!” our source says.

“She runs and does weightlifting with a trainer and then yoga and Pilates every other day, followed by ballet cardio with a dance coach, too.”

Elle Macpherson’s trainer James Duigan says a dedicated regimen (like Hilary’s) could result in a 6kg loss over 14 days.

“Limit alcohol and drink green tea, too,” he advises.
