Natalie Portman reveals her pregnancy cravings

The actress says she has a hankering for foods unlike her first pregnancy with son Aleph, which has caused Ellen DeGeneres to place her bet that the star is having a girl.

It’s Natalie Portman’s pregnancy cravings that have convinced talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres that she’ll be soon welcoming a baby girl.

Speaking candidly, the actress, who is pregnant with her and husband Benjamin Millepied’s second baby, revealed that while she craved sugary desserts while carrying five-year-old son Aleph, she now has a taste for something lighter.

With [Aleph], I wanted like… cream puffs, any dessert with cream in it, or just plain whipped cream straight,” the Oscar-winner said.

“And this time it’s healthy, like pineapple, cucumbers … burritos – which is maybe less healthy but delicious,” the 35-year-old laughed.

The actress debuted her baby bump on the red carpet of the 2016 Venice Film Festival back in September.

While the Jackie star admitted that she “really” doesn’t yet know the gender of her impending arrival, Ellen saw these clues as a definitive sign.

“I think that that means it’s a girl,” she quipped. “Really? Why?” replied the brunette beauty, but Ellen couldn’t explain her working out – it was just a hunch.

Five years prior, when a first-time pregnant Natalie last visited the show to promote Black Swan, the 58-year-old failed to correctly guess the gender even after performing the swing or circle pendent test. This time, however, Ellen is determined to win back her pride.

“It is a girl. You want to make a bet?” she asked, to which Natalie agreed.

“Well it seems like it would be in my favour, since last time you were so, so wrong.”

But Ellen’s poor track record certainly didn’t hold her back. The pair shook on the waver, with the prize of $1,000 and free pizza for the winner.

“Food-related bets, I will always take!”

Just weeks ago, Natalie revealed that she still had a while to go in her second pregnancy.

While many have voiced their excitement in the imminent arrival of her second baby, in late November, Natalie assured that there was still “months to go” before she and her choreographer husband become parents-of-two.

“I’m a small person in general,” she explained to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “You show a lot faster and a lot more when you’re small.”

“Everyone thinks I’m about to pop and about to give birth at any minute and I have months to go,” the actress added.

Natalie is allegedly due in US spring – Australia’s autumn.
