Canadian rocker, Alanis Morisette has shared a breastfeeding throwback snap to mark World Breastfeeding Week.
The 40-year-old ‘Ironic’ singer showed her support of breastfeeding by posting the intimate picture via instagram, which shows her holding her now three-year-old son Ever, while on tour back in 2012.
She captioned it: "family on tour ;) europe 2012 #worldbreastfeedingweek #isupportyou @msjamielynne #everlovedhischakraglasses @jaygordonmdfaap."
Since becoming a mum, the singer-songwriter has been a vocal proponent of breastfeeding and attachment parenting.
So much so that during an interview on The Billy Bush Show in 2012, she said she planned on breasfeeding her son until he “is finished and weaned.”
"I think it affords the child, when he grows up, to have a lot less therapy to go to," she said.
"For me, I protect his safety and his well-being and his attachment. That stage of development is a very important stage."
And Alanis isn’t the only celebrity mum who supports this method of parenting.
Stars including Miranda Kerr, Gwen Stefani and Gisele Bundchen have also shared breastfeeding shots on social media.
This year, World Breast Feeding Week runs from August 1-7.
