Mum shares powerful post baby body snap

I find it silly for us as women to worry about our body as we grow a human being inside of us! It is such an amazing feat to go through pregnancy.

Shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton has posted a “real” post baby body photo on Instagram winning praise from mothers around the world.

The mother-of-one posted the image of herself in bathers and a board in hand as she prepares to jump into the ocean for another surf just months after giving birth.

Alongside the image, Hamilton wrote:

*“I’ve seen many comments on “her post birth body.” I find it silly for us as women to worry about our body as we grow a human being inside of us! It is such an amazing feat to go through pregnancy. And then you have this wonderful lil being that is part you and part of your significant other. It’s natural and HEALTHY to gain weight.

Here I am two months after giving birth to Tobias. I feel great and healthy! It takes 9 months for our bodies to change and grow. So I can say it’s alright to take your time, maybe about 9 months, to get back to the new, healthy, beautiful, and normal you.”*

The instagram post has gain almost 100,000 likes and more than 1000 comments in one day.

One user wrote: “I love this so much. You look incredible and your words really hit home since I am 7 weeks post baby right now.”

Hamilton is a professional surfer who lost her left arm when a shark attacked her in 2003.

The 25-year-old Hawaiian and her husband, Adam Dirks, welcomed their son, Tobias, into the world on June 1.
